A Practical Way to Maneuver and find Meaning in Grief

Someone to lean on

Let us acknowledge the presence of the absence of our loved ones by walking together.

One of the most difficult aspects of COVID-19 is isolation. Many people are arriving at their deaths without their loved ones close by. Losses go unmarked.

We scratched our heads and tried to figure out a safe way to bridge losses until the pandemic subsides and people can get together again.

We came up with the idea of  sponsoring regular honor walks along a trail , designed to allow small groups of people to come together in nature at a safe distance, put one foot in front of the other, and walk with their intentions on  a safe and guided path where all participants extend  their hearts and good-minds to one another as they walk.

What to Expect:

How to Walk the Honor Trail

  1. Gather your walkers!  If your walk is highly personal and you wish to walk alone, one of our doulas can get you started.
  2. Arrive at the park at your designated time.
  3. If you’ve made specific plans for your honor walk, a doula will assist you in implementing the details
  4. If you want a guided walk, the doulas set up places to pause along the path.
  5. After the walk (from 30 minutes or so) we re-convene at the park shelter for friendly chat and smiles

What to bring:

  1. You are welcome to bring mementos, poems, songs, stories and such, Certainly bring an open heart! We  will too!
  2. Please wear a mask for a safe experience.
  3. Water bottle
  4. Easily folded stool or chair (we’ll carry it for you) if you want to rest along the way.
